(FFChamps) The Indianapolis Colts placed starting safety Bob Sanders on injured reserve Friday because of a torn left biceps. Sanders sustained the injury against the 49ers last week and will need to undergo season ending surgery.

Analysis: The Colts stingy pass defense is going to have to rally to maintain their high level of play because their roster is being decimated by injuries. Sanders is done for the season, cornerback Marlin Jackson wasplaced on IR with a torn ACL, and starting cornerback Kelvin Hayden is also expected to be sidelined three to four weeks with a knee injury. The Colts will use two rookie cornerbacks -- Jerraud Powers and Jacob Lacey -- in their starting lineup for now.
