News Articles > Colts notes: Donald Brown expected back; Anthony Gonzalez gets scoped
Published Fri Nov 6 7:10:14 p.m. ET 2009
(FFToolbox) Indianapolis Colts rookie running back Donald Brown is expected to play this Sunday versus the Houston Texans. He has made a pretty quick recovery from a shoulder injury. However, you can't say the same about wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez from his knee injury. After rumors swirled a while ago that Gonzalez could be getting close to returning to the Colts' lineup, Gonzalez had arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday. He is expected to miss at least 2-3 more weeks. He has been out since week one with a torn PCL and apparently re-aggravated his injury during practice a couple of weeks ago. Brown injured his shoulder during the team's week seven game. Colts owner Bill Polian said Brown was expected to miss 2-3 weeks, but after missing just one game, Brown looks like he is ready to return. He is officially listed as questionable.

Analysis: Brown didn't practice on Friday, but that seems to be more of a precaution than anything else; he did practice on Wednesday and Thursday. With Brown back in the fold, Joseph Addai's value takes a bit of a hit. I expect him to have a pretty good end to the season, especially with some nice match-ups against Jacksonville and Buffalo on the schedule. Some think that Gonzalez may not play at all for the rest of this season, but for now hang onto him if you can and hope that he's out for just a few more weeks. Austin Collie will continue to see more targets in his absence.
